The One-armed Bandits

What is it exactly about Vegas that transform even the very prosaic among us into adventurers? Is it the ambience, the magical background, the glitz and the glamour? Or is it the smell of win in the air, the fantasy of winning something with almost nothing?
I guess, as always, the truth lies somewhere in between. But not all who visit these mesmerizing behemoths of entertainment are skilled punters who can hope to have a certain amount of skill helping their luck on the way to hard cash. So why and how do these people get attracted to the magic that lies in this desert wilderness of Nevada, USA?
Well to the young at heart and not so high rollers the draw lies in the Slot machines. These casino-gambling machines with three or more reels which spin when a button is pushed to come to stop at various combinations of graphics symbolizing events in the hand are extremely popular with all but the seasoned, skilled poker player. In other words the machine pays off founded on patterns of icons noticeable on the front of the machine when it stops. Originally slots are also called as one-armed bandits because slot machines were originally run by a lever on the side of the machine (the one arm) instead of a button on the front panel, and because of their ability to gobble up your last penny. Many modern machines still have a legacy lever in addition to the button just for a hint of nostalgia.
Today although many variations has appeared in these machines yet the basic principle remains the same where anybody with just luck on their side can win a lot of money without any need of any show of skill whatsoever. Just keep pulling the lever or pushing the button and you just might beat the One-armed Bandits.

How to play poker

Poker is a card game with numerous variants; most of them are dealt with a single deck of 52 playing cards. It is generally played for money (frequently in the way of "chips") but may also be played for scoring tokens. Poker is usually played by a set of about two to ten players; it cannot be played alone. Although there are lots of kinds of poker, but all of them follow the same basic rules.
No House Advantage
Poker does not allow any "house advantage", though most other gambling card games played for money do. If the cards are mixed up and dealt justly, all players at the table have equal statistical probability of winning more than all other players. This is exactly opposite to a conventional gambling card game like Blackjack, where the person who is the "dealer" has a huge statistical advantage.
Skill versus Luck
Players have a lot of chances during the game to make choices which shape the result of the hand being played. The ability of any single player has a significant impact in shaping the general result for a player because accurate decisions made at the proper times can boost a player's winnings at the game and reduce their losses. While luck plays a hand in dealing of the individual cards to the player (and to the other players), ultimately, luck will peter to average for all players - however each player's ability in playing the different hands they have been dealt with will decide their overall net earnings. The more number of decisions a player must make to win some particular kind of poker, and the additional information accessible to help in making those assessments, the more that any individual player's skill will influence their earnings. More than all other varieties of gambling card game, Poker, offer a huge range of decisions for a player to take, and therefore a much higher likelihood that an able player will win.

Casinos of Nepal

Through the decades, Kathmandu has seen many alterations; in trends and people. However, one thing has always been in vogue that of South Asians coming to Kathmandu to play in the Casinos of Nepal. The four Casinos in Kathmandu situated inside the city’s top hotels provide 24 hours of round-the-clock fun and games like roulette, flush, baccarat, poker, pontoon, blackjack and other card games and slot machines. All the games are played with chips which are bought with US dollars or Indian rupees. You'll get free food and even disco if you put some lucre on the tables. Nepali's are officially forbidden from entering in Casinos.
Gambling has always been a part of South Asian culture. When you look at ancient paintings and text, you see kings and their women playing dice. When you look at Holy Scriptures, you read of gods and sages gambling. The attractions of the casinos of Nepal are round the clock play, multilingual service staff, food and beverages and even smoking materials provided to all players, polite dealers provide training for beginners or to introduce new games, and free transportation service.
Since opening in 1992, Casino Anna became the most patronized of all casinos in Nepal. Situated in Kathmandu's most popular tourist center, Durbar Marg, it allows you to be in the heart of the action. Travel agencies, hotels, banks, airlines, shops and other requirements are located next door.
Although located ideally for easy airport access, Casino Everest lies in the placid area of Baneswor. The adjacent towns of Bhaktapur, Patan, Katmandu and the Temple of Pashupatinath offer possibility of quick excursions for the visitor.
Casino Nepal, the oldest casino in Nepal, is also the most frequented casino in the Valley. The other casinos have followed in its footsteps as it sets the trend for different games and tournaments.
Casino Royale, located in a building that is part of a 125-year-old Rana Palace. It is the pride of the Rana kings who built many fantastic palaces and parks in Nepal. Most of the mirrors and chandeliers were brought abroad from Europe and brought into mountainous Nepal on the backs of humans.
